this stamp set is called "circle circus" which is kinda silly but it is very versitile. i made the same card with primary colors and a less girly "happy birthday" for a kid's b-day card. not as cute, but it works! i have been liking the grays and purple-y shades together recently.

Stamp Camp Ornament

So I decided that rather than coming up with new ideas for stamp camp, that i would just use my ideas for cards and gifts for this Christmas! This was my ornament idea--I was going to use some blues and silvers but i really like how this one turned out! I just curled the 1/6" strips around a pencil, slipped 6 of them in the glass ornament, and added fun ribbon and a tag! The ornaments were about $3 at my local craft store for 5 of them. I'm definitely going back for more!! A very frugal gift idea:) Happy stamping!!

We made this card at a workshop a few weeks ago. I don't have the big shot, but she did and wanted to use it... so we did! She also wanted to use this set, and I didn't have it--which gave me an excuse to get it! Other than using the Top Notz die, the other fancy work on the card was coloring the tree, which I did on the back of the stamp with markers. It kind of gets me in the mood for fall! Anyway, I'm rambling! Hope you enjoy!

I found the idea for these cards on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website. They were pretty easy to do--the only stamping was Baroque Motifs and the "Happy Anniversary"! The rest was the pretties kit: flowers and the hat pin.

so at the church where i work, i gave a gentleman a card who was in the hospital. it was one of those times when you have a card sitting around for months and then you finally have the PERFECT person to give it to! he really liked it and asked if i could make 20 for him! of course i never make 2 cards the same... and the original was made with retired colors/accessories... so here is what i ended up with! the picture is a little fuzzy, but you get the idea. happy easter!

Other Christmas Presents

Here are 2 different projects--the first two pictures were the same thing, one for my mom and one for my sister. They both like to do sudoku, so I printed some sheets from the computer and made covers for them! The other is a glass display plate I made for my aunt.

Some of the other gifts I made this year were: for my cousin (4 years old) I got some great books from the thrift store, and had my mom, dad, sister, husband, and myself read them. My hubby recorded them on the computer and made a CD of us reading them to her. We all live in VA and they live in PA, so it'll be a way that she can hear our voices. My extended family did that for me when I was a kid and overseas, and I still have the tape:)

I also make food for the boys in my family each year: uncles, dads, hubby... this year I made peanut butter cookies, monkey munch, fudge, and choc pretzels. Yummy:)

Hot Cocoa Gift Baggie

You can use this idea to put anything in -- candy, cookies, gift cards, make up, toy cars, etc. This is the medium sized bag--the large bag is 6x8"! I used the Frosty Day paper with the mittens on it since I was using my bag for hot cocoa... love that paper! I wanted to make sure I made myself use it:) But it was very easy and quick to put together! To attach my topper to the bag, I sealed the baggie with scotch tape so I didn't loose any of my cocoa, then I put two strips of Sticky Strip on the inside edges of the topper, one on each bottom edge. That holds it on great! Happy budget-friendly gifting! :)

Isn't this little pumpkin just too cute?! I got the directions/ideas straight from the SU! demonstrator website! How good they are to us... :) I changed the stamps since I didn't have what they used, but I think I like how it came out. First try:) There are a few things I want to play with (measurements, the tag, etc) If you want to know how to do it, let me know and I'll show you how! He would be a perfect centerpiece for Thanksgiving day! Or even a place card at each setting!

Hi friends:) Sorry it has been so long. Things turned out to take longer in the hospital for Granny and she passed away last week. So I have not been on! I also started a new job on Monday, which is going wonderfully, praise God! What good timing he has and how wonderful his plan! I've been looking for a job all summer, but He knows what is good for me:)

SO! This was a blast from the past! I have been sorting through the basement and have had my old scrapbook stuff in front of the couch to be sorted through and something to be done with it for oh... 2 weeks now? hmm so Monday night after our picnic, I was motivated! yay! I found my high school scrapbook and had ONE page that wasn't done!! WEll... i couldn't put that up on the shelf undone! So i decided that i could do a super fast page. And i Did! it was very exciting and quick! it literally took 10 minutes from sitting down, picking out colors, stamps, doing it and journaling, and cleaning up! I made this for Stuart last Christmas. He also got a Macbook for Christmas, so he now really doesn't need this since he has all the dates on iCal :) Oh well. He still liked it! I made the calendar part on the computer and used coasters for each page. I used my crop-o-dile to punch the holes for the hanger and to hold it all together. It was pretty easy actually! I have the file if anyone wants it! Just comment and I'll email it to you!

ps--I have jury duty starting tomorrow. Hopefully it is only tomorrow, but I probably won't have time to post until that joyful event is over!! Until then, have fun stamping! Lauren:)

I was given a similar card in this wonderful swap that I do through my friend and upline Robin--it is the only swap I really do!! However, it's accent color was red and I didn't have any red bling brads! So I changed to a color I did have... purple. I am usually NOT a purple fan. Very hard for me to do purple, I just don't like it. I like it even less than pink. Just not my colors!! But I use them more on cards than I wear them!! But it turned out beautiful!! I also had to change the background (she had used Pretty Petals, the matching background) because I couldn't find it to borrow! I already had to borrow the set from a sweet friend who had just gotten it. I told her I would cut it for her if I could use it!! Thanks Debbie!! ~Lauren:)

So... I finally finished my mom's birthday present, only a week late!! Sorry!! The idea was there but took a while to come to fruition!! :) I really like how it turned out! I usually don't write this much, because I don't like reading a lot of stuff on blogs. So if you don't want to read the how, just scroll to the bottom for the supplies!! :)

The inside was pretty easy, the pics are 3x3 each. However... putting the brads in was a pain because I put them JUST far enough in that my hand-held hole punch would reach. So I had to try the crop-o-dile (which mutilated the ribbon... why I switched from the brads on the left to the right!!) and then finally used the crafter's tool kit and the hole punch and hammer in there. I still wouldn't pick doing it that way because it wrinkled the ribbon and I had to straighten it back out when I was done!!

The frame took the longest. Probably because I'm me and I can't do anything creative the easy way:) That's why I like to case things!! I got it for $4 at AC Moore, which was great for an 8x10 frame I thought. It was just a maple looking wood frame. First I sanded it down, then I put on 4 coats of paint. I used a hodge podge mix of acrylic paints that I had hiding in the basement:) The first coat was a Ruby Red color, then a Close to Cocoa like color, then a Groovy Guava-ish shade, and finally a Very Vanilla on top! After all that I sanded down the frame to "shabby chic" it. I dyed the pretties flowers using a River Rock and Groovy Guava reinker in an old stamp container. I let them dry overnight, but still had to wipe off extra ink. I think there is a better way to do it out there, but I couldn't find it and got sick of looking!! I used a bunch of glue dots to get the flowers to stay.

These were last year's Christmas presents! I took wood blocks (my friend so nicely cut them for me!) Spray painted a primer on them, and painted them. Then I took my big square punch and punched out patterned paper for each side of each block. Then I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper to each side of the blocks. Finally, I used my alphabet stamps and stamped out messages and used my smaller square punch to punch those out and adhered them with Mod Podge as well! I used matte finish Mod Podge, and I would also sand the bottom of each block when you are done so they don't stick:) Very cost efficient presents, I would recommend doing it!

Coaster Frame

This was a project from a stamp camp earlier this year. Super fun and easy! The base is 2 coasters. I cut the Cutie Pie paper (retiring!!) and rounded the corners to make it the same size as the coasters, then used a glue stick to cover and attach the paper. Use a bone folder to smooth the paper onto the coaster. I used the Cropodile to punch the holes (both coasters at once) and then decorated!! Fun:) Have a great weekend... Lauren!

Well, school started for me and we are off to a good start! Lots of changes this year, and I still trying to get things under control so I can have more time for stamping. But things are looking up, as you can tell since I am posting and have a picture to share! :) Made this as a hostess gift and 2 booking incentives for a workshop at the end of the month. We are doing a cute pencil holder that I lifted from the September Stampin' Success too. Full fall-ish workshops! Hope you are enjoying the weather, stamp happy!

Well, we are still in the process of moving and it was the first week of school, so my stamping is still on hold. I need to get going though for a swap due on Wed!! I made this card for a workshop I had 2 weeks ago... my first spinner! It was a lot of fun to make some falling leaves and use more of the Fall Flowers paper. This week has been pretty hectic! School starts Tuesday and I have been spending every last second in my room or planning! We are also moving locally so that has also been sucking my time! I hope to get to my table soon... I made this for a recent workshop. I love how it turned out, very elegant. I am actually trying to make these in primary colors using the Primary Simply Scrappin' Kit for the teachers at my school. We'll see how many I get done! :) Happy Labor Day!

I know, I hate to admit it as much as you do, but summer is quickly slipping away... I start my teacher week at school tomorrow and then the kiddos come. Maybe you are getting ready to send yours off or are just ready to be rid of hot weather, but we can't deny that it is almost here! I made this set for a hostess gift to get the holiday spirit started. The candle was super easy (check earlier post for link to instructions) and I cased a card with retired colors that my upline made last year. Hopefully I did her justice:)

I got this idea from convention and just now got around to doing it! It is a tag for my hostesses to wear during the workshop, just to make them feel somewhat special! I think it is a cute idea, and it came out pretty well. Used a square coaster as the base and embossed the letters in white.

Simply Scrappin' Paper Bag Album

This was a paper bag album that I made for a mother/daughter class that we had on Friday. It was a great group and a lot of fun!! I made the album from the Home Again Simply Scrappin' Kit. This album used maybe 1/4 of the kit. The only stamps I used were for the title on the cover. I have made tons of these paper bag books, but I still love them!

Okay! So after getting back from Convention, I have decided that I need to get better about being creative!! I have so many fabulous ideas around me that I don't let myself have fun experimenting. So today, when I sat down to make a birthday card for my mom, when I normally would have gone to splitcoast or my stash of swaps, I used my OWN brain. (and NO ribbon!) What a novel idea:) I used some scraps from my prayer journal class, a new adorable stamp set, and YAY I love the card I came up with! Now let's hope my mom does too:)

SO!! I am back from Convention... got back @ 2am Monday (was supposed to be 10:30 pm Sunday!) I am still working on getting back my sleep and organizing my life. Only to leave on Wednesday for vacation!! Eek:) But we had a FABULOUS time in Denver, check out the boards/swaps and people pics on the slide shows on the right side of the blog. Robin won #1 Rising Star which was AMAZING, she rocks, and #72 Demo of the Year!! So so cool. A girl can dream right? haha.

Anyways, finally made something--I am doing a prayer journal class for a non-SU friend on Sunday and finally got one made. A few retired things used since they are not SU customers. Used the cute little $1.82 "hot cocoa" notebooks from Walmart. Yay for new toys: Fall Flowers DSP and Chocolate Taffeta ribbon. Used some of Robin's retired sets with bible verses and used the round tab punch to make 5 sections--family, friends, church, community, and world. Turned out pretty cute!

This is the inside of a scrapbook card showing my sister very delighted with her new ear-bling:) The cover pic shows her mid-piercing and my husband suggested that maybe she wouldn't appreciate it being on my blog:) Of course, he is probably right. This will be the make-and-take at my mom's workshop on Friday. After I figured it out, it was pretty easy to make! Faux-stitching using the paper pierced and white gel pen in the corner!

I LOVE this rhino, this Soft Sky designer series paper, the Blue Bayou, the rhinestone.... :) I think I still want to play with this card a bit but I like the basics of it. A little tweaking to be done before I create my swaps, lol. Super easy though!!

Someone on splitcoast had the great idea of using Pick a Petal, but not actually using the petal stamps! Love these polka dots:) And I didn't think I would like these colors together, but I do! Made the card first and then turned it into a 6x6 scrapbook page for camp this weekend. I think I may make some of the 6x6 to swap with as well. The card will def be a swap, so cute!!

Got this idea from splitcoast... so easy and cute! I have loved the celery and black cards I have been seeing recently, so I decided to try it with Pick a Petal (even though flowers aren't usually green). I think it turned out pretty cute. I love how quick this card was--directly stamped the petals and sentiment onto the whisper white , layered on black, punched out the middle with 1 1/4" circle punch, and added some brads!! I think this will be a great swap to make!! :)

My current project is starting on my swaps for Convention at the end of the month! I have signed up for a "stamp camp" swap, where I am in a group with 19 other people and each of us are making 20 projects to trade with each other. I hope to get some great ideas out of it! I am using Perfect Presentation and two of the In Colors: Wild Wasabi (love saying this name!!) and Purely Pomegranate. The end result will be a coffee filter album! Should be cute... I'll post the final project when I finish:) Love those rhinestone brads!

If you haven't seen it yet, it is awesome. Call me if you want one. These were made for a workshop I have on Saturday as booking gifts. I made them using the All About Gratitude jumbo wheel and All About Occasions stamp set. They come together with another wheel as a level 3 hostess set. I embossed the wheel using clear embossing powder on rose red cardstock and then stamped the flower in black on a piece of Rose Red Prints DSP. I punched out the flower with a circle punch and then added some black grosgrain and black gingham ribbon behind it!
